Grace’s Famous Hot Chocolate

Ingredients

  • 8 oz. high quality chocolate chips
    (example: Ghirardelli) milk, semi-sweet, or dark, whichever you like best.
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • If needed, add sugar or the sweetener of your choice to taste.

Toppings:

  • whipped cream, marshmallows, cinnamon, cocoa powder, crushed peppermint, cinnamon sticks and candy canes can be used as stir sticks.

Instructions

 1. In a medium saucepan, combine milk, cream, salt, and chocolate chips. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, until chocolate chips are completely melted and liquid begins to steam. Remove pan from heat and stir in vanilla.
2. Use a whisk or immersion blender to combine the mixture and ensure the chocolate is well homogenized into the milk.
3. Ladle into cups and add toppings.
